Social Emotional Teaching Strategies Training 

 

5 hours of continuing education in Guidance and Developmentally Appropriate Practice

 

For those of you interested in taking your work with children to the next level, be sure to attend the next session on this topic.  I will be presenting the 2nd module in this series and it's a GREAT ONE!  You all have the basics of good practice for promoting social emotional development with children from module 1.  Now we will explore specific teaching strategies that get results.  Some of the things you will walk away knowing how to address include:

  • What is emotional literacy and what activities help build "feeling vocabularies".  A child being able to express themselves is a crucial aspect of their development. 

  • How to teach children to not only understand their own emotions, but also to understand other's emotions.

  • The importance of teaching skills to manage anger.  You will receive materials that allow you to implement teaching strategies for anger management. 

  • Problem solving is another crucial skill, but how do we teach problem solving to a 3 year old?  Can it be done?  YES!  I'll show you how and you will receive materials that will help you teach this critical skill.

Of course there will be videos, group activities, time to share ideas and thoughts and (I hope) a lot of laughter and fun!  So, come find out what it's all about!
