Credentials of Dawn
Rhods:
She is married with
three children. Hobbies include bowling, website design, auto
racing, bicycling, fishing, and she is a stained glass artisan.
Her child care home,
Rascal Roundup, is nationally accredited by the National Association of
Family Child Care.
She has volunteered
for 15 years as a board member on County & State Family Child Care
Organizations including the positions of: President, Vice President,
Treasurer, Secretary, Newsletter Editor, Legislative Committee Chair,
Webmaster and Publicity.
Dawn Rhods graduated
in the Summer of 2003 with an AAS in Early Childhood Education and an
Associate of General Studies from the Community College of Aurora. She
holds Director and Head Teacher certificates.
She was an active
participant for 5 years on Governor Roy Romer's Early Childhood
Committee for the State of Colorado. Assisted in the development of an
Early Childhood Professionals Core of Knowledge Book for which a
voluntary credential system is based from. She also helped initiate the
TEACH scholarship program for early childhood professionals.
Colorado Provider of
the Year nominee in 1999.
